The 2017 CFL Outdoor Season came to a close on Wednesday with some close finals games.
Fistnation ultimately took out the win for the competition, beating Otautahi 3-2 in the final set. An informal prizegiving took place afterwards to recognise the winners and celebrate the completion of New Zealand's first season of outdoor fistball after completing the indoor season in September. Limited timeframes meant the whole outdoor season was played in 4 rounds, with every team playing 2 or 3 games each round. It took all of about 5 minutes for everyone to remember just how different the game is outdoors. Final standings:
In CFL tradition, several other awards were handed out on that evenings prizegiving.
